Sucker Punch is a fantasy action packed movie where the cast are mainly girls. The story line follows the story of Baby-Doll, who is skillfully played by Emily Browning. Babydoll needs all her wits about her in her attempt to keep her sanity. Blue, played by actor Oscar Isaac is the main baddy of the plot, a nasty piece of work who is wanting to lobotomize Baby-Doll in a few days time.

The film was written by Zack Snyder and Steve Shibuya, with Snyder directing who has once been quoted as saying that the film is like Alice in Wonderland but with machine guns. The movie is set during the 50′s and Babydoll is attempting to escape from an asylum called Lennox House, where she has been incarcerated by her wicked stepfather.

The training for the girls was tough having been instructed to dead lift up-to 210lbs prior to the commencement of filming. Damon Caro the stunt coordinator who had been also used for 300 and Watchman, was there to put the girls through their paces for both fitness and the fight choreography too.

He did a brilliant job on the fight scenes in Bourne which were so spectacular. Throughout the movie the girls are killing mythical creatures with both machine guns, B-52 bombers, swords and their bare hands.
It’s a fight for their very survival as well as for their ultimate escape which is all played out in their own vivid imaginations. But escape they must in order to find freedom.

This movie is epic fantasy at it’s highest level, a dream world inside a young girls head which knows of no boundaries between reality and incredible imagination, where there are some very dark corners.
With the help of a virtual arsenal on hand, they have some help from The Wiseman, played by Scott Glenn who is both a mentor to the girls as well as their martial arts trainer. There are some terrific fantasy fight scenes against serpents and samurai and many more in between. There are some excellent accessories available such as swords, guns and wigs.
No one will dare to take you on when you wield Blondie’s axe this Halloween.

Zack Snyder has come up with another great film with Sucker Punch, it’s Girl Power at it’s absolute best from the Sucker Punch cast.
It might be a tad difficult to get hold of a B-52 Bomber to go along with your costume, but you might do just as well with a sword or by just using your fantastic martial arts skills. If you don’t have these to hand! Fear not, just look amazing and you’ll disarm any opponent. The main thing at Halloween is to dress up and enjoy yourself.
